Summer Internships (Summer 2027)
Our Summer Interns are crucial in supporting DSA projects and initiatives during our busiest season. Interns gain hands-on experience in event planning, marketing, community outreach, and beautification efforts, all while working closely with our team to learn the ins and outs of downtown management. This is an ideal opportunity for college students seeking to positively impact their community while developing valuable professional skills. (Applications will open early Spring 2027)
Assistant Director of Events & Marketing
The Downtown Somerville Alliance (DSA) is seeking a talented, creative, highly organized professional to serve as Assistant Director of Events & Marketing. This is a leadership position for someone who thrives at the intersection of events, marketing, creativity, project management, and community engagement.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Assistant Director will lead the planning and execution of the DSA’s robust annual calendar of festivals, concerts, community events, promotional programs, and special events. The position will also provide creative and strategic leadership for the DSA’s marketing and brand initiatives and will directly supervise the Marketing Associate.
The ideal candidate is someone who can think strategically while also getting into the details; someone who can develop a new event concept, manage vendors and municipal logistics, create a compelling marketing campaign, oversee a project budget, provide direction to a staff member, and troubleshoot an event-day challenge.
This is a hands-on position with significant responsibility and visibility within Downtown Somerville.
