Summer in Downtown Somerville is packed with live music, classic cars, outdoor movies, vibrant festivals, and unforgettable community experiences. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, Division Street and Main Street come alive each week with events that bring residents and visitors together in the heart of downtown.

The season cruises into high gear with Cruise Nights, Downtown Somerville’s beloved classic car show, every Friday from 5:00 PM–9:00 PM. Music lovers can enjoy the Summer Stage Concert Series every Saturday from 6:00 PM–9:00 PM, plus bonus performances on the first Friday of each month. Families and friends can gather under the stars for Starlit Cinema, our free outdoor movie series running every Thursday from July 9 through August 6.

Summer also features some of Downtown’s signature celebrations, including the International Street Fair on June 7, Somerville Pride Night on June 25, and the Artisan Market on Division on August 23. Along with shopping, dining, and outdoor gathering spaces, these events create a season full of energy, entertainment, and community spirit. 

Whether you’re dancing to live music, admiring vintage automobiles, watching a movie under the stars, or exploring one of our signature events, there’s always something happening in Downtown Somerville all summer long.

Downtown Somerville is easy to reach whether you’re driving, taking transit, or exploring on foot.

Car

Accessible from major New Jersey highways including Routes 22, 28, 202, 206, 78 and 287 — plus plenty of municipal parking options within walking distance of Main Street.

Transit

Transit’s Raritan Valley Line stops just one block from downtown at the Somerville train station, and several NJ Transit buses serve the area.

Parking Made Simple

Choose short-stay metered spots right on Main Street or easy municipal parking lots — all within a few minutes’ walk of shops and restaurants.
