Summer in Downtown Somerville is packed with live music, classic cars, outdoor movies, unique shopping, and unforgettable community experiences. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, Division Street and Main Street come alive each week with events and activities that bring residents and visitors together in the heart of downtown.

The season cruises into high gear with Cruise Nights, Downtown Somerville’s beloved classic car show, every Friday from 5:00 PM–9:00 PM. Music lovers can enjoy the Summer Stage Concert Series every Saturday from 6:00 PM–9:00 PM, plus bonus performances on the first Friday of each month. Families and friends can gather under the stars for Starlit Cinema, our free outdoor movie series running every Thursday evening through August.

August is all about our Dog Days of Summer campaign! Throughout the month, visitors can enjoy live music every Sunday from 12:00 PM–3:00 PM on Division Street, Sunday Sidewalk Sales featuring special promotions from downtown businesses, and a month-long Shopping Passport that encourages guests to explore local shops, restaurants, and boutiques for the chance to earn prizes upon completion. The season also features the Artisans Market on August 23, showcasing handcrafted goods, local artists, specialty foods, and one-of-a-kind finds.

Then, on September 20, Downtown Somerville takes the excitement to the next level with Music Fest, our largest music celebration of the year. This spectacular multi-stage, multi-genre festival transforms Main Street and Division Street into a vibrant entertainment destination featuring regional, and local performers, a dedicated Kidz Zone with family-friendly activities including inflatable bounce houses and pony rides, delicious food, a lively beer garden sponsored by Village Brewing Company, specialty vendors, and entertainment for all ages.
