The Downtown Somerville Alliance promotes, enhances and revitalizes Somerville’s downtown as a thriving commercial district and community-gathering place for residents, shoppers and visitors from Somerville, Somerset County and Central New Jersey. Our Committees are dedicated to the success of Downtown Somerville, our businesses, and our community!

Volunteer Committees
Public Art Committee
Meets to discuss public art initiatives that are in line with our Public Art Plan. In addition to visioning public art projects that can activate the priority areas identified in the plan, this group works to keep an asset inventory of spaces available for placemaking initiatives, local artists, and resources for art activation.
Infrastructure Committee
Dedicated to maintaining and improving downtown Somerville’s infrastructure and beautification. This committee meets to discuss issues relating to our streetscape, tree program, beautification projects, furniture and amenities, garbage, and more. They also work with the Executive Committee to assess the district’s Clean and Safe/Hospitality program.
Promotions COMMITTEE
Meets to discuss current and future marketing initiatives in line with our marketing strategy and plans and executes local events to boost foot traffic and cultural tourism in the district.
Economic Vitality Committee
Meets to discuss business support strategies and initiatives and ways to support/retain the downtown Somerville business community through marketing, education, and improvement programs.
