Sponsor a Holiday Banner and Help Bring Seasonal Cheer to Downtown Somerville

SOMERVILLE, NJ- The Downtown Somerville Alliance (DSA) is excited to announce the launch of its Holiday Banner Sponsorship Program, offering businesses, families, and residents a unique opportunity to celebrate the holiday season while supporting the beautification and enhancement of Downtown Somerville. The program creates a festive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the downtown district while establishing a sustainable funding source for seasonal decorations and future downtown improvements. 

Holiday banners will be professionally installed throughout Downtown Somerville and displayed annually from Thanksgiving through January 31, providing prominent visibility during the busy holiday shopping season, year-end celebrations, and the start of the new year.

“This program allows our community to leave a lasting mark on Downtown Somerville while helping us create a vibrant holiday experience for residents, visitors, and local businesses,” said Dana Kessel, Executive Director of the Downtown Somerville Alliance. “Whether you’re a business looking to increase visibility or a family wanting to celebrate the season, these banners offer a meaningful way to support our downtown and be recognized for years to come.”

The sponsorship program includes several participation options:

• Downtown Somerville businesses within the Special Improvement District: $150
• Businesses outside the Special Improvement District: $300
• Families and residents: $200

Each sponsored banner includes a five-year sponsorship term, allowing sponsors to receive recognition on the same banner throughout the duration of the program. At the conclusion of the term, sponsors will have the opportunity to renew and maintain their banner placement.

To ensure a high-quality and professional appearance, the Downtown Somerville Alliance will coordinate all installation, removal, maintenance, and monitoring of the banners. The program also includes a guaranteed replacement if a banner is damaged due to weather, normal wear and tear, or other unforeseen circumstances within the sponsorship term.

Beyond seasonal recognition, sponsorships directly contribute to creating a vibrant downtown environment that encourages residents and visitors to shop, dine, and celebrate locally during the holiday season. The program reflects the Downtown Somerville Alliance’s ongoing mission to enhance the Downtown Somerville experience through beautification, community engagement, and economic vitality.
